Why use a study timer?

A visible finish line makes it easier to begin. The classic Pomodoro rhythm uses 25 minutes of focused work and a 5-minute break, but the best interval is the one you can repeat without losing momentum.

Before you press start, write one specific outcome. “Draft two paragraphs” is easier to act on than “work on essay.” Learn more in our Pomodoro study guide.
